Serving the World

Juárez Housebuilding

Every year, members and friends of St. Bede's travel to Juárez, Mexico, where they build a home for a family living in extreme poverty. In 2019 we built our 26th house. Over the years, this has  not only given many families a fresh start in better living conditions, but has transformed the colonia (neighborhood) for the better. We partner with Missions Ministries of Highland Ranch, Colorado, who work with pastors in the Juarez area to select families, purchase building materials, oversee the build, and arrange housing and meals for the team. St. Bede's also raises more than $10,000 each year to pay for the project.

Creativity for Peace

Creativity for Peace prepares young Israeli and Palestinian women to be peacemakers in their communities and across borders with compassion, friendship, and courage. Its summer camp program brings young women from Israel and Palestine to the beautiful and peaceful setting of Santa Fe, where communication and leadership are supported. Campers have daily opportunities for dialogue, art-making, lots of fun, and the beginning of new friendships. St. Bede members serve as staff, volunteers, board members, as well as contributors.

The Middle East Children’s Alliance

The Middle East Children’s Alliance is a nonprofit organization working for the rights and the well-being of children in the Middle East. MECA supports dozens of community projects for Palestinian children and refugees from Syria. Since 1988 they have delivered $21 million in food and medical aid to Palestine, Iraq, and Lebanon. St. Bede's is a contributor.

Episcopal Relief and Development

Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD) is the compassionate response of The Episcopal Church to human suffering in the world. Hearing God's call to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being, ERD serves to bring together the generosity of Episcopalians and others with the needs of the world. ERD faithfully administers the funds that are received from the Church and raised from other sources. It provides relief in times of disaster and promotes sustainable development by identifying and addressing the root causes of suffering.
