Music at St. Bede's

Why Music?

St. Bede’s celebrates music! The power of music heightens our responses to scripture and the creative nature of the Holy Spirit. Our Anglican heritage makes a firm foundation for our music-making at St. Bede’s, and we also incorporate a diverse variety of other music expressions. Music at St. Bede’s is consciously offered to the glory of God in a prayerful manner so that all can participate. God often speaks to us through music—so come listen, learn, sing, pray and experience what God has to say!

Do you sing and might wish the opportunity for singing in the warm spiritual fellowship of the St. Bede’s Parish Choir? The Parish Choir leads musical worship on Sundays at the 10:30 am service and for special services on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve, as well as Evensongs and other special opportunities during the year.

Choir rehearsals are Wednesday’s at 5:45 pm and Sundays at 9:15 am. All are welcome to serve the church in this important ministry. Contact Music Director Jerry Nelson by phone at 505-690-2577 or by email at for more information.

Music is a fair and lovely gift of God which has wakened and moved me to the joy of preaching ... Next to theology I give music the highest place and the greatest honor.
