Please join us on Mondays at noon for six weeks, May 15 through June 19, of reading and discussion of the national bestseller Blood and Thunder: The Epic Story of Kit Carson and the Conquest of the American West by Santa Fe author Hampton Sides.
At the center of this sweeping history of the 19th-century Southwest is legendary trapper, scout, and soldier Kit Carson, an illiterate mountain man who understood and respected the Western tribes but ultimately participated in the US Army’s subjugation and devastation of the Navajo nation. There will be a discussion with author Hampton Sides on June 12. Discussion will be led by Trudy O’Toole and Njeri Nuru-Holm. Please read Part One in preparation for the first two meetings.
Discounted books may be purchased from Rickie Sherrill () and from other online or Santa Fe outlets. For further information, please contact Njeri Nuru-Holm, .
