“How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!” ―Anonymous 18th-Century Hymn Text
This anonymous English text is most often sung to an old American tune and reminds one of what a treasure trove of praise, prayer, and love fills our musical tradition based upon individual responses to scripture and the creative nature of the Holy Spirit. Our Anglican heritage makes a firm foundation for our music making at St. Bede’s, but it also incorporates a diverse variety of music from a vast treasure of spiritual musical expressions. Music at St. Bede’s is offered to the glory of God in a prayerful manner so that all can participate. God often speaks to us through music –so come listen, learn, sing and experience what God has to say!
Do you sing and might wish the opportunity for singing in the warm fellowship of the St. Bede’s Parish Choir? The Parish Choir leads musical worship on Sundays at the 10:30 am service and for special services on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve as well as three Evensongs and an Advent Lessons & Carols service during the year. Rehearsals are Wednesday’s at 5:45 pm. All are welcome to serve the church in this important ministry. Contact Music Director Jerry Nelson y phone at 505-690-2577 or by email at for more information.
