Carol and I wish to thank everyone for your prayers, support, love and good thoughts during my recent hospitalization and continuing recuperation and follow up care.

A recent stress test revealed some problems with my heart that may result in bypass surgery. My diabetes has caused damage around my heart that came as a big surprise. Thanks to the quick action and great care of doctors at La Familia Medical Clinic and the New Mexico Heart Institute a heart attack was avoided.

We also want to thank the members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry who brought us shawls in the hospital. Carol and I found great comfort and holy warmth. My shawl covered me in bed all during my stay.

I am probably the only Episcopal priest visited by two rabbis. When Rabbi Malka Drucker came in to see us before my procedure I remarked, “My Rabbi is here”. Her reply, “I came to see my priest”. The nurses were somewhat puzzled. Following the surgery Rabbi Marvin Schwab came in and like Rabbi Malka had prayers and supportive counsel.

I still have a way to go before final decisions are made but I know your love and support are there for Carol and me.

Your prayers and love are very special gifts from a very special congregation. God bless you all for all you do and pray.
